OnePlus Mobile Phone Sale Ban In India Offline Stores

Yes, you hear it right, the OnePlus Mobile Phone Sale is going to be banned in India’s offline stores from the 1st of May 2024. This is because the Indian mobile retail chains have decided to stop one plus product sales due to some issues like low profit margins and delays in service claims from the company’s end. But you will still be able to buy the Oneplus mobile phones on Amazon, Flipkart, and Oneplus India’s official website.

Why the Retailers want to stop OnePlus sales and what are their complaints to the company?

Currently, offline retailers are facing two major issues with Oneplus Company. The first issue is that they are not getting enough profit margins and the second one is the long time taken to process warranty and service claims. And the third reason is the compulsory bundling of products from the company. This means the retailer is asked to purchase multiple products together, even if they only need or want one of them. One of the reports by Moneycontrol states that this decision may affect 4,500 stores across 23 retail chains in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

Sridhar Ts, the president of ORA (Organised Retailers Association) said in a letter that “throughout the past few years, we have faced some significant obstacles associated with the selling OnePlus products, which remains unresolved”.

Moreover, the retailers highlighted the problems they encounter with delays and complications in processing warranty and service claims. They stated that this is leading to customer dissatisfaction and placing an additional burden on them.

Sridhar Ts further stated, “We have come across situations where we are forced to combine products or services with one plus devices, which limits our flexibility and hampers our ability to cater to the diverse needs of our customers.”

What is the official statement from Oneplus regarding this matter?

OnePlus said in a statement that it is already working with the retailers and trying to resolve this issue.
