The anticipated release of the Samsung Galaxy S25 is slated for early 2025, but leaks and rumors surrounding the successor to the Galaxy S24 are already circulating on the internet. Information from sources on Naver, a popular Korean blog platform, suggests that the Galaxy S25 will boast a marginally larger screen than its predecessor. Furthermore, speculation hints at significant enhancements to the Galaxy S25 lineup, such as advancements in the primary camera sensor technology and the adoption of Samsung’s proprietary Exynos chip across all global markets.

A recent post by an insider known as yeux1122 (written in Korean) on Naver, as reported by GSMArena, suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 might feature a 6.36-inch display. This size slightly exceeds that of its predecessor, the Galaxy S24, which unveiled this year with a 6.2-inch screen. This indicates a continuation of Samsung’s trend of gradually increasing the size of its smartphone screens. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S23, released last year, boasted a 6.1-inch display.
The source highlights that although the rumored Samsung Galaxy S25 may come with a 6.3-inch display, aligning with the dimensions of this year’s Xiaomi 14, the Chinese tech giant is gearing up to enlarge the smallest phone in its upcoming flagship lineup. Meanwhile, Apple is rumored to be preparing to expand the sizes of both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max to 6.3mm and 6.9mm, respectively. This adjustment would result in both phones being 2mm larger than their predecessors, signaling a shift towards larger form factors in the smartphone market.
Earlier indications suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S25 may debut with significant alterations to its design. Rumors speculate that this overhaul of the smartphone lineup is under the guidance of Hubert H. Lee, who serves as the EVP and Head of Samsung’s MX (Mobile eXperience) design team.
Moreover, there are reports indicating that Samsung intends to outfit all variants within the Galaxy S25 series with the Exynos 2500 chipset, irrespective of the market. This stands in contrast to the Galaxy S24 series, which featured either an Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, depending on the region.
Reports suggest that both the alleged Samsung Galaxy S25 and its larger counterpart, the Galaxy S25+, may come equipped with a primary camera sensor sourced from Sony, replacing Samsung’s own ISOCELL sensor found in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series. However, it’s important to approach these rumors with caution, considering that there is still a considerable amount of time before the expected launch of the Galaxy S25 series smartphones.
